2021Searching for timeless newborn photography after a NICU stay in Greenville SC? When Leigh and Jake brought their little guy Nico home from the hospital they were a little alarmed that most photographers in the area required that your newborn needed to be under 14 days old. Nico wasn’t under 14 days old. He’d spent nearly a month in the NICU and although it was just past her due date, Leigh wasn’t sure if she’d find a photographer who would take him.
Until she stumbled on my website with it’s section full of older and NICU babies. I will not turn a baby away due to age. My oldest NICU babies have been three month old micro-preemies. And I’m willing to try full term babies up to 6 weeks old. Usually even at a baby milestone session for a 2 month old I can get one good prop shot, even if your baby is awake. Your baby deserves to have memories in print and I’ll do my best to create them.
I’m a sucker for details. I love telling your story right down to the precious little gestures like their tiny toes in your hands. Leigh and Jake just adored Nico. Many of these images are more spontaneous joy rather than posing. One of the ways I try to honor your little one as a person, especially if they spent time in the NICU, is to let them lead the posing. I feel for their preferences in movement and I watch how your little one lays his/her hands that is uniquely your baby. I try to move them slowly in little movements. I take many different angles to create a full gallery. I think this is one of the reasons I’ve always been successful with NICU babies. I respect them as little people with opinions. I love this series of Nico on my olive backdrop. Are you looking to book Timeless Newborn Photography after a NICU Stay in Greenville SC? I’d love to be considered to capture the beauty in your baby. 2021I’ve been able to capture sweet Nalani as a newborn and a one year old so I was super excited for the opportunity to do a two year old ice cream smash birthday photos Greenville SC for this sweet girl! Look how much she’s grown since I met her! Here she is as a newborn!
And here Nalani is enjoying destroying, but not eating, her cake at one year old.
And, finally, here is Nalani at two! She has loads of personality, but like all two year old’s Nalani took awhile to take me seriously. So I brought out the ice cream toys to play with! And then we had a bit of time to cuddle with mama.
I love this set of images! The relationship that these two share is so special as a single mama. The cuddles and giggles and true delight they have in one another is a huge gift!
But even after all that coaxing, it took a visit from my cat from upstairs to really get her personality shining. We invited him down just before ice cream for cuddles (with mom’s permission). Who knows though, maybe it was the ice cream that finally won her over?
Once Nalani ate an entire bottle of maraschino cherries and was finished with the ice cream, my cat Hunter took a quick taste! And finally. we opted for a bubble bath to end the session just like I do for my one year olds. And you can see that this is where Nalani chose to let all of her playful personality shine!

2021I was super excited to do Lydia’s maternity pictures with a large family in Greer SC. I’ve photographed 3 of her babies including one of the two that came through the gift of foster care to adoption. In fact, big sister Zoey was one of the first 25 babies I ever had the privilege to photograph way back in 2014.
Lydia had never done maternity photos, but knowing this was the family’s last baby so wanted to remember her pregnancy. She also loved that she didn’t have to get any clothing for the session because of my Mama Wardrobe included with your session.<– Click there to see my gowns in all sizes! In fact, this down to earth mama may have come to the studio in her favorite pair of pajamas and a full face of make up! It was amazing! One of the concerns that I often hear from clients with big siblings about booking a maternity session is “What will the kids do when they’re not being photographed?” This, ya’ll. They’ll stand in the backdrop playing with all the toys I hide until I’ve taken their images and bust out right before I focus on the couple.
However, the best benefit of a maternity session is that the big siblings become familiar with me and the studio BEFORE your coveted sibling picture. It also gives me time to create portraits of each individual kid as you’ll see below. It’s the best glimpse of big sibling’s personality! Are you looking to book your own maternity pictures with a large family in Greer SC? I can wait to meet all of your kids and make special me memories of this time for you! Click here to contact me today and tell me a little about your family. I’d be honored to serve you!

2021I’ve photographed all of Jenn and Abel’s sweet babies as newborns and at one year so I was just excited to do Classic Southern Studio Portraits Greenville, SC for Baby Theo’s first year! You can see Theo’s precious newborn photos and his whole family by clicking here. Right now Theo is the perfect Gerber baby. He’s precocious as tries to swipe my camera, but his perfect pink cheeks and sweet curls stand out in both color and black and white. Look at him!
For reference, here is Theo at his newborn session where I scarcely saw his eyes. He was just a tiny little guy who wanted nothing more than to nap. I’m always so shocked by how fast babies grow. Unlike parents, I don’t get to see the incremental changes. I typically see your baby at 1 week old where all they do is sleep. Then again at 6 months where they’re happy and aware of everything, but easily amused. And then again for either a milestone session (like this one) or a cake smash at one year. One year olds are total wild cards. They have good attachments to their parents and that makes them a bit cautious around me. They’re hyper aware of being in a new environment too, but they have so much personality!
I tell all my one year old clients that your baby is going to be shy, they’re going to cry, they’re going to crawl or walk out of the frame! Bring your yoga pants for the images you’re not in as you’ll chasing your little one all over! Mom always leaves the studio feeling a little worried that I didn’t get any good shots in all of the commotion. News flash, Theo did all these things and devoured about 5 snacks and a bottle too as he came all the way down from Asheville! If his session turned out this well, I promise you don’t need to be worried about your active baby. Looking to book your own Classic Southern Studio Portraits Greenville SC? 2021Are you looking for a photographer skilled in Large Family Newborn Pictures Greenville SC? I love the big siblings almost as much as the babies! There’s something marvelous about playing with a 2 year old and then waiting for them to take interest in family photos. And talking to a 4-8 year old is a blast! They have such unique perspectives on the world and love the one on one attention.Big families are a joy and deserve to have their newborn milestones recorded too! Brooke and Carly were no exception. These two were a sheer delight and absolutely adored their new baby sister. I also captured both Brooke and Carly alone for their separate portraits. It helps big siblings to feel valued when I start with their pictures, but you also deserve quality images of your big kids! After I do individual portraits and portraits with the baby, I add in mom and dad for family portraits. When I’ve finished with the big siblings, I recommend that dad or grandma take them from the studio for a special date. This gives big siblings a reward for excellent behavior and a smaller window to focus on behaving in a new space. Additionally, mom gets a moment to decompress while I care for and pose the newborn baby. Mama Ali requested that I use this baby quilt, an heirloom from her family. I loved using it in the sibling image and also in this little bed with baby Carly! This black and white image of Carly in her mama and grandma’s hands was also a special request. I adore it!
