2022Are you looking for a newborn photographer that has a classic aesthetic but keeps your sweet baby a bit more covered in a modest timeless newborn pictures Greenville SC style? I don’t often receive this specific request, but I love when I do! I have a studio full of sweet little outfits and wraps that create simple sets while still complimenting your baby’s natural beauty. I especially love the headbands and outfits I’ve collected from Avonli Baby, many of which are featured in this session! This is my fourth session with Mama Holly and her two sweet girls, Emma and Newborn Anna! You can see Holly’s maternity photos while pregnant with Anna here. You can see big sister Emma’s Newborn photos here and Holly’s first maternity session here. Each time Holly has made this simple and minimal request and I love serving her family! The most special thing about Holly’s girls are these sweet dresses that her husband Jorge’s mom makes. I’m a knitter, but the level of detail and fine heirloom quality of this knitting is beyond my skills! To have images of both girls in these dresses is a sweet gift. I know these exquisite treasures will be shared with future generations. Emma was all over the studio like any little one just under two, but we had a blast capturing her just as she is: spunky and excited and oh so expressive. Perfectly posed pictures are a fluke with kiddos under 2, but Emma was prepared to be in the studio so she wasn’t overwhelmed. I love how her personality shines. Are you wanting to capture your family in this modest timeless style? I would so love to be considered as your family photographer. Click here now to tell me about your sweet baby and the wishes you have for the memories we’ll capture together. I simply can’t wait to create heirloom art for your family.Emma Andres, Holly Vanderwal, Jorge Andres and newborn baby Andres (possibly grandparents Richard and Robin Vanderwal)

2021Looking for stress free timeless studio maternity pictures Greenville SC? One of my goals with all my sessions is to make things simple for my clients. Your maternity session shouldn’t cause stress. You deserve to feel special as you grow a precious human! And more importantly, you deserve beautiful images of this time expecting your little one.
Here are some of the ways I try to make your session stress free.
- I offer some flexible times for Maternity sessions. While most baby and newborn sessions occur during typical work hours, with Maternity I also offer even time slots. Typically a 6-7 p.m. session time works great for working parents. It give you some time to freshen up after work, grab dinner or a snack and head over to the studio.
- I’ve found that most mamas stress over what to wear to the studio. During pregnancy your body has gone through so much change and most mama’s have limited and super practical maternity wardrobes. Therefore, I stock a studio wardrobe for my mamas and babies as well as some items for dad and siblings. You can view my mama wardrobe by clicking here. In general, I purchase larger items and safety pin these to fit you to perfection! In the pictured session, Leah is wearing two different gowns from my wardrobe.
- I keep maternity sessions short and sweet! I know, especially dads, aren’t really enthusiastic about being in photos. With just the two of you, a maternity session is easily under 30 minutes. If you have big siblings, we’ll probably have a session closer to 45 so I can capture solo images of your kids. They key is to capture your emotion and expectation as you await your new little one. I don’t need a lot of time to make these beautiful memories for you.
Does this sound like the experience you’d like for your stress free timeless studio maternity pictures Greenville SC? Drop me a line by clicking here! You’ll get all of the booking information you need as soon as possible because I’ve also simplified the booking process with automated emails! I hope to hear from you soon.

Spring Strawberry Lemonade Understated Cake Smash Photo Session Simpsonville SC
Ruby Rose came back for her 1 year session with her mama Kalyn and daddy Robert. If you’d like to see Ruby as a newborn, click here.
Kalyn loves the simplicity of retro styling. This beautiful gingham dress is the epitome of Kalyn’s style. We styled the rest of the session with strawberries and lemons for a vintage picnic type theme. I loved it!
Ruby loved all the picnic berries and fruits that we decorated with and was almost completely uninterested in the cake! One year old babies all have their own personality and it’s always fun to see how they react to cake. From enjoyment to disgust to ignoring it altogether, each baby is different. I love the variety of emotions we’ll capture at your session.
After portraits and cake, I always finish one year old sessions with a bath. If your little one doesn’t love the unfamiliar cake, they usually enjoy the familiarity of bath time. These are some of my favorite images from Ruby’s session. She loved it!

2021Are you looking for Newborn Pictures with family in Greenville SC? Do you have an active two-four year old and are wondering if it’s even possible? It is! And I’m happy to share the secrets with you.
The first thing you should know is that I ask you to prepare your child. Most kids will do well if they can. They will do well if they know what’s expected of them. Tell them my name (it’s Melissa). Let them know that I’m going to ask them to make silly faces for a picture. Let them know that I’m going to have them hold their sibling (probably laying down). Practice with a baby doll! Take a million pictures with your phone. Let them take a million pictures of you laying down with the baby doll. Practice sitting with mommy or daddy and letting the other parent play photographer. Let them know that I have special toys in the studio for after pictures. Bring a special treat too! If your child knows who I am and what to expect, they will usually do well.
Next, you should know I play hard with my 2-4 year old clients. There’s lots of high fives, some silly animal noises, some tickling, and other shenanigans catered to your child’s personality. In fact, I might not even greet the parents until your older child has lost interest in the session. And I know that interest lasts for about 20 minutes. Of course, if your kiddo is on the shy side, I follow their lead, too. And I have to admit, there are many times when I just ignore a disinterested preschooler until they’re suddenly jealous that everyone else has their attention and then I capitalize on that moment!
Finally, you should know that my expectations of your child are realistic. I know there will be whining or a meltdown or a few tears. I know they’re going to run around and maybe even hide under the newborn table. I know they might get overstimulated and need a moment of cuddles while I wrap the baby and pay attention to the other parent. Most importantly, I know that parenting a little one is hard work and that their behavior reflects more on their age and stage than on your love and care for them.

Newborn Pictures with Family in Greenville SC: Andrea, Nick, Luke, and Noah
These brothers Luke and Baby Noah were a blast. Luke was in the studio as a newborn (click to see his pictures), so it was a gift to have Andrea and Nick trust me with baby Noah. Luke had a few moments of shyness and overwhelm. He relied on his Mickey Car toy to provide some security in this new environment. You can see that featured in one of the images. Honestly, I love that capture. As a mom, it brings your emotions right back to that age and those precious memories.
Ofcourse, I also spent the resto of the session hanging with baby Noah to get all of the precious newborn images including some cute smiles! Scroll down to see all of their images.

2021Are you looking for a Natural Relaxed Newborn Pictures Simpsonville SC? Tired of overdone styling or awkward poses? Do you want the inherent beauty of your child to be showcased rather than a thousand props? If so, Quiet Graces Photography may be a great fit for your needs. To tell me about your dream session or inquire to book click here! Or keep reading to see a bit more of Jackson’s natural relaxed newborn pictures Simpsonville SC.
I love simple posing in a newborn session. I want your baby to be the star of their session. They’re beautiful just as they are. I loved when Andrea picked gray and cream as the primary colors. Like all my sessions, Jackson led the posing time with his comfort. I try to move between poses smoothly, but also let your baby choose things that are characteristically their mannerisms. For instance, Jackson liked to escape swaddles, hence the one legged pose that’s uniquely his alone. Andrea, Andrew, Ava, and Eliana have been to the studio before when Eliana was a newborn. Check out how much Eliana looks like Jackson by clicking here. Also, Ava wore the same dress for Eliana’s newborn session as Eliana work for Jackson’s. How fun is that! I have a studio wardrobe that I provide for mamas because it’s so hard to find flattering clothing during the immediate postpartum period. Buying something that will only fit for a little while can be so disheartening so I began collecting items for my mama wardrobe over time. The dress Andrea is wearing is from this wardrobe, but you can see all of the mama wardrobe here. Additionally, Ava decided to borrow a dress from my wardrobe mid session, too! I do have several items in each size for the big siblings, too!
