2017Kate contacted me about a newborn session at the beginning of her third trimester for her second boy. She had been less than pleased with the style of her previous photographer. She wanted someone with a clean, classic, and timeless newborn photography Greenville, SC. I was so honored to be chosen for these special portraits.
George has a precious older brother named Neil who was just two for this session.
Kate is an amazing mama, too! She read my post about preparing big siblings for a session and thoroughly prepared big brother Neil for his portraits. He was ready to follow directions and super excited about receiving instant bribery for each image. Neil’s preference was to get a green jelly bean from the jar mama brought. I dug one out for every smile and you can see it was worth it!
Neil was a little less excited about family portraits after playing in my book and toy nook while I did portraits with his parents. But we still got a great smile from him with a couple of extra jelly beans!
Some of my favorite images are always tight compositions in the parents hands. There’s just something so beautiful about the contrast of a tiny baby safe in his parents hands.
George was an extremely laid back baby. I only saw his eyes for a brief moment when he first arrived at the studio. I’m so glad I took a few seconds to capture these open eyes.
For the rest of the session George let us pose him however we pleased.
Kate, it was a joy to serve you and your family. I can’t wait to see your little boy grow.

2017Hannah’s mama Silvia called me a little after Hannah’s first birthday for Simpsonville Cake Smash photos.
Silvia wanted to memorize ever little detail of her little girl. The time was moving so fast.
Silvia is from Germany and living and working here in the United States for two years. While laughing Silvia requested a cake smash because “Those just aren’t done in Germany and it will remind us of our time here.”
So we set up a cake smash and bubble bath for sweet Hannah and we had a blast!
Hannah was a little shy at the begging of her sessions which is truly normal for a one year old. This image of Silvia reassuring Hannah is my favorite from their whole session. As you can see, I won her over with the rocking horse above!
In Germany, they don’t do cake smashes like they do here in the United States. Silvia enjoyed creating a truly American memory.
But Hannah really loved splashing in the water. It was the highlight of her time in the studio!
Babies always love splashing around after their cake and Hanna was no exception!
Silvia and Hannah, I look forward to seeing you again as Hannah grows!

2017Sometimes mamas amaze me from the very beginning.
Lindsey was one of those mamas. Her very first email won me over immediately. Her grateful heart and bubbly personality shone through from the beginning.
Lindsey’s baby was a complete miracle. A previous emergency surgery had given her a very small chance to conceive again. Just as her husband Jason and she had surrendered their hope for another baby….
SURPRISE!
And even better yet, they took the surprise further by keeping the gender a surprise until his/her birth day! I honestly can’t wait to meet s/he and find out. I love that Lindsey is keeping it a surprise for me even after delivery.
Lindsey chose to add hair and makeup onto her maternity session and she was overjoyed with her choice. Katie from Cotton Rouge made Lindsey feel and look so amazing that Jason and Lindsey spontaneously hired a sitter for date that evening!
Speaking of Jason and Lindsey, their bond was one of the most beautiful husband and wife relationships I have witnessed in the studio. When Jason brought the boys into the studio Lindsey pretty much glowed. He made her smile and blossom into the most beautiful version of herself right in front of my eyes. I couldn’t believe it.
And their boys… ah Sawyer and Cole. These little love bugs were adorable.
Sawyer at two was the most obedient two year old I’ve ever had in the studio. Although he did get a little flustered as his attention span waned, we almost always got the shot with Sawyer in the first couple of frames.
Cole is Lindsey’s adventurous dare devil. His personality shined immediately. I’m not sure we got a single classic smile at all, but that’s okay because we captured his mischievous personality to the fullest. I loved it.
Lindsey, I can’t wait to meet your surprise miracle. Thank you so much for trusting me with your memories.

2017Meet Zane who came for Newborn Pictures Greenville SC. This little bundle won the award for best hair in the history of all newborns here at Quiet Graces. We didn’t style it or anything. It just stuck up like this! We called it “baby Elvis hair.” And it’s to die for!
Zane has a remarkable story. His adoptive mom Randi always wanted to adopt a little one with Down Syndrome. It had been her dream since just 12 years old. When the time was right, Randi connected with the National Down Syndrome Adoption Network. Randi’s little girl dream was coming true!
After a year of waiting, Randi was matched with Zane’s amazing birth Mom. Their relationship is beautiful. Gifts and goodies are mailed to Zane. Beautiful words are spoken between both of them to encourage and support. Their match was clearly a miracle of grace.
Zane came to see us at 1 month old which is the perfect age for newborns with low trunk tone or hypotonia. All children with Down syndrome have hypotonia which make them super flexible but also very difficult to keep in a pose. Their little bodies just don’t stay put in the same way as other newborns.
Zane’s mama Randi and I are very passionate about Down syndrome awareness. Did you know that between 75-90% of babies diagnosed in utero with Down syndrome in the USA are aborted? The list of those ready to adopt are around 100 strong, but most expecting mamas don’t know about the beautiful mamas ready to adopt. If you’re an expecting mama, please feel free to contact me here and I can put you in touch with Randi or Amanda to hear their stories. Down syndrome isn’t scary, but it can seem overwhelming at diagnosis.
Do you have or are expecting a special needs newborn? We’d love to help you plan your custom session with us. We want to help you show just how beautiful your baby really is. Contact us today!

2017When McCall walked in the studio for this session he was bright eyed and curious. Like most 2 year olds, he needed a moment to get to know me. I let him click the shutter a few times and talk to me while he began to be comfortable in the studio.
The truth is 1-3 year olds are complete wildcards in the studio. But I could tell that McCall’s mama April had read and followed a number of tips in my 11 Ways to Prepare and Young Child for a Photography Session. McCall warmed up quickly and smiled easily while his mama changed into her gown.
While I do offer wardrobe for all my mama’s in the studio, April chose to bring her own clothing. And April’s gown was the perfect selection. In fact, I’m still thinking of convincing her to sell it to me.
The light and airy colors and length are just the perfect compliment to my cream studio. The dreamy lighting techniques showed off her new mama glow perfectly!
McCall clearly adored his mama. Their bond over giggles and baby sister’s tummy and sweet hugs was just incredible.
McCall will clearly be the best big brother.
