2023I’m so excited to introduce Greenville SC Mother’s Day Mini Photos Sessions!
These sessions will be on May 6,7, 20, and 21, 2023.
For $99 you’ll receive a 30-minute session with you and your little ones focused on capturing cuddles, tickles, and your relationship with your children.
Each session includes one hand-edited digital file with the opportunity to purchase more if desired.
Need a little convincing to get in front of the camera? If you’re like me, you maybe wish you were thinner or get all embarrassed at the weird angles your husband chooses to take pictures from. “Ick… is that really me?” It’s hard to see yourself through the eyes of your children. It’s hard to see yourself as beautiful just as you are, but isn’t that how you see your children?
Dear mama,
You matter because of the way you love your children is changing the world.
It’s remarkable, really, how a kissed knee and some words of encouragement can bloom fully into bravery.
I know you often feel like you’re not enough. Not good enough. Not organized enough. Not wise enough. Not prepared enough. Not confident enough.
Moms worry about it all.
But the truth you need to hear is that you are perfectly imperfect enough to show up and love your children. Every action matters. Every brief and meaningful look or touch is helping your child grow more into themselves.
Give your children (and yourself) a gift. Be brave. Get in front of the camera with all your insecurities to show yourself just how much what you’re doing with your children is enough.
Let your children see in art just how you feel about them. That love so deep a blue whale could barely plumb its depths.
Show up in the visual record of your children’s childhood so they can always remember how much they were loved.
With all my Heart,
Melissa

Kia, Rasheed, and A’Jhrina were absolutely amazing to photograph. Kia has an amazing sense of style and it really shows in the outfits she chose to bring for her family. I loved the contrast of the white and emerald in their clothing. While I do provide a client wardrobe to keep your Mini maternity Photo Sessions Greenville SC simple for you, clients are always welcome to bring clothing that fits their personal aesthetic. I want your images to express who you are!
I really love these moments of A’jhrina and Kia. You can tell that this family adores each other! These moments are so bittersweet before your first baby becomes a big sibling. It’s good to have a moment to celebrate your older child at your maternity session.
A’jhrina completely stole the show at this session. She’s employed with a local modeling agency and really knew how to work the camera. We had a blast playing together and celebrating both A’hrina’s personality and also baby A’riah!

2023Meet Ben at his Sailboat Theme Simpsonville SC Baby Cake Smash Photos! This little guy absolutely stole my heart! Looking to book yours? Click here!
While most one year olds have a bit of stranger danger and just gently sample the amazing cake from Baking Sweet Scents included in your Simpsonville SC Baby Cake Smash Photos session, Ben was basically a submarine diving right in. Please pardon the bad pun 😉 There was frosting from one end of the studio to the other. It was all over me and his mom who he had to share with, but somehow very little stuck to Ben!
My favorite part of the session were his bubble bath photos. Ben became obsessed with the ships wheel that I had placed outside the tub, but when he put it inside the tub it was just perfect. Doesn’t Ben look like he’s piloting a ship on the sea in the little tub?
Both a bubble (or milk) bath and the a simple semi-naked cake are included in your cake smash session. I also provide a banner or floral backdrop. Parents are welcome to bring other props or goodies for their session. My daughters and I love helping customize the session to your nursery decor or to a theme that you just love. We’ve done everything from Strawberry Lemonade to a Tea Party to Rookie’s First Year to Wild Things. As always, we keep the sets fairly minimalist to keep the attention on your sweet baby. 2023I was honored to be chosen as Amber’s Mom and Newborn Baby Photographer Greenville SC. I’ve served the Upstate SC area for nearly 13 years now capturing natural, timeless, and emotional newborn pictures. I don’t use a lot of fussy props because I want to show the simple moments that make up your baby’s story. Interested in working with me? Click here! Want to know more about Amber’s session with her boys Atlas and Anax? Keep reading!
Anax was the sweetest newborn snoozing happily through his session. He loved being wrapped and cuddled. Atlas was, like all my two to three year olds: BUSY. I love to play hard with toddlers and preschoolers, but I also work hard to respect their boundaries. If they aren’t interested in pictures at first, if I ignore them long enough they will want to join back in for my attention. This is how we captured that lovely top left picture of Atlas holding Anax’s tiny hand!
As you can see, most toddlers will resist being posed and instead I aim for those beautiful unscheduled moments unless they’re showing a willingness to be posed. I also recommend that moms share my name, the expectations they have fore how the session will go, and what special reward they’ll receive during (non-messy foods!) and after the session (a trip to the park with daddy or their favorite show)!
Above is a video of all of the images Amber chose from her session. I think it’s so important for mamas to jump into the images. Oftentimes, mamas are the ones recording all of the moments with our little ones. We’re so rarely featured in images. So I always encourage my mamas to jump into images. I remind them that they do not have to choose the images they’re in for their final gallery, but 9 times out of 10 the mama images are chosen. They’re just too precious.

2023This family focused newborn photos Greenville SC session is one of my favorites! Looking to book your own? Click here or read on!
Lauren, Taylor, Harrison, and Mims adore one another. This session really showcases their bond!
Harrison was, of course, a typical two-year-old. He didn’t want to do anything that wasn’t his idea. But it was also clear that Lauren and Taylor had talked with him about the session expectations with Harrison. I give directions for this technique for preparing big siblings for a session in my preparing for a newborn session video. And when a parent “front loads” the session like this, I can usually win over any two-year-old. They know who I am, the photos that we’re going to take together, and, I promise, even little kids do well if they can! Having the expectations up front helps your two-year-old know what is expected.
Harrison agreed to “test my camera” with some fun shots with his bunny which you can see in the collage above. And from there we played some games. I always ask your two-year-old for consent to be in a picture. If they say no, I carry on with posing mom and dad. Eventually being ignored will make a two-year-old curious and then I can just ask if they want to hug mom or if dad can pick him up and tickle them. Eventually, with Harrison, we even moved on to letting him old Mims on his own. Two is never easy at a session, but I promise that telling them about me, trusting the process, and remaining calm during the session usually means your two-year-old will surprise you with some beautiful images!
After Harrison was finished with family images he was rewarded with a date with daddy! This gives him something to look forward to and also gives mama a little rest in the studio for the rest of the session. I highly recommend this strategy!
Little Mims was also a delight, staying asleep for family focused newborn photos Greenville SC , waking long enough for some cute open-eye images, and letting me pose after a good meal in the studio. It was a delight to get to know Lauren during this time. Click the video slideshow below to see the whole session! You can also view other session videos by clicking here.
