2017We scheduled Kate’s maternity session about one month in advance. She was excited about cooler weather as she runs hot so we chose December 9. It’s South Carolina so we never expected Winter Wonderland Maternity Pictures Greenville SC!
When the unexpected snow came on December 8, Kate messaged me to say that she would totally be up for snow pictures if I was. I was delighted!
The roads were clear so we headed out to Paris Mountain State Park to enjoy a little adventure.
Kate chose this pretty gown from my Mama Wardrobe and I brought along my own wool coat and a silk blanket just in case it got a little cool for Kate. I have to say that this was the first maternity session I’ve shot where mama wore both snow boots and pearls! It was so much fun.
This little spot at Paris Mountain is my favorite for intimate maternity portraits. I love the lush dark foliage, the beautiful rocks, and the leading lines from the path and fallen trees. These things make such a dramatic backdrop for a maternity session.
However, my favorite shots are always details. Hands so tenderly protecting a beautiful new person. The slow waiting for joy to unfold in it’s time is the most beautiful season to me.
Kate, I know this is baby number four. I know that your are simultaneously excited and simultaneously a fourth time mama who knows what’s coming. Take the time to celebrate. Make yourself slow down a bit and enjoy this little miracle. As you and I both know, babies don’t keep.
Interested in booking your own intimate maternity session? I can’t promise Winter Wonderland Maternity Pictures Greenville SC, but I know that together we’ll create beautiful memories of your anticipation and joy. I would love to create fine art with you. 2017Everyday your baby gets a little older.
First, they roll over.
Then, they sit up.
Then, they get chunky thigh rolls.
Next, they’re one!
Then, there’s curls.
Finally, you blink….
Time is a merciless tyrant.
Slow it down.
Capture them now. As they are.

2017You guys went a little wild over our Christmas photo last year.
What started as a little inspiration, silliness and dumping out a whole bag of flour to roll in it on Christmas Eve is ending in a unique Gingerbread Mini Session just for you!
So if you like to laugh as much as we do and want to shock your family with a silly Christmas card image, here are the details!
- 20 minute session (but we might not need that long!)
- $99 for 1-2 kids
- $149 for a family
- 1 digital art composite of the whole group and 1 of each person.
- You can bring special items from your kitchen to personalize your backdrop. Grandma’s hand written recipe, your kids favorite sprinkles, and already made up cookies are great options. Yes, these regular sized items are part of the magic!
- Must be willing to roll in flour. That part isn’t fake. You will be covered.
- I recommend bringing a change of clothing for everyone to ride home in!
- I won’t share the images on social media until Christmas Eve and Christmas day to keep the surprise for your family!
Ready to book? I’ll remind you of these again later in the year if you sign up for emails, but if you have to have these, I highly recommend snagging one now and putting it on your calendar!

2017For years I’ve been a little scared of outdoor family sessions, but not anymore. The switch for me was realizing that I wasn’t going for the perfectly posed Christmas card image. I wanted to create actual memories: sweet snuggles, toddlers with lovies, chasing after each other, and even some tears.
Once I stopped trying to fit my art and your family into a round hole and accepted my square peg storybook approach… well the magic is starting to happen as you can see here!
I’m a story book photographer.
The images in this post are the story of the sweet K family. We’re playing at my favorite location late November. There was a lot of running, giggling, piggy back rides, and a few good no’s just to balance it out. I’m so honored that they have spent the last 4 years challenging me to take outdoor images and loving every session. They are the inspiration behind this new offering!
If you’re looking for someone to tell your story as your family is right now, I’d love to create art with you. I have 14 dates in May, June, October, and November up for grabs for a unique family session experience
Sessions are $550 plus tax and include:
- Shooting at this beautiful location in Travelers Rest. I know it’s a drive, but it’s worth it! (This area is controlled burn managed area. I will choose an alternate location only if it is a burn year.)
- Wildflowers and late evening session times in May and June.
- Tall grass, golden light, and early evening session times in October and November.
- 1-2 hours of shooting time as needed
- personalized wardrobe consultation. Tell me your style, colors you feel confident in, where you like to shop for your family, your budget, and I’ll create a style board just for you.
- 30 plus hand edited digital files in color and black & white
- An 8×8 leather journal album with 16 pages telling your story.
If you’re interested in a Sunset Storybook Session, please fill out the contact form below! I can’t wait to make art with your family’s story!

2017It’s always a good thing when your Greenville SC Natural Twin Newborn Baby Photographer also has twins.
My twin girls are 8 this year. That first year was a crazy ride of joy, sleeplessness, cuddles, and them changing everything up as soon as I figured them out. One of my favorite things is to serve twin mamas in the studio. There’s something truly special about encouraging a new twin mama and promising her that it’s all worth it; so I was thrilled when Jessica booked with me for her little ones Ford and Emerson.
Ford and Emerson stole my heart from the very moment the walked in the studio. Calm and laid back and brand new, they were a joy to work with. I almost didn’t want to give them back to Jessica. I just kept trying just one more thing.
Each baby had such different personality. Even though they were both relaxed, Emerson we so much more laid back. She slept through the entire session and let me pose her however I wanted.
Ford was sweet but he was definitely a mama’s boy. He needed a good snuggle and snack to get through the session. And when I finally got to pose him, Ford felt more comfortable next to his sister. That twin bond starts from the very start.
I loved talking to Jessica about the challenges and celebrations of having twins in the first year. It was so nice to be able to give back the gift of encouragement that had been given to me by other twin mamas in my early days with my girls.
Are you looking to book a session for your newborn twins? I’d love to create memories for you, but more than that I would love to encourage you. Please fill out this contact form and I’ll start encouraging you right away.
