2018I was so excited to do Charlotte’s Simple Beautiful Timeless Newborn Baby Girl Photos Greenville SC here in my Taylors, SC studio. I have to admit I gasped when they walked into the studio! Her head of hair is so incredible!
Charlotte Birth Announcement from Melissa Aldrich on Vimeo.
Charlotte is the first little girl in a family with two older brothers. Older brother James was so in love with Charlotte that he pretty much stole the session’s highlights. I mean look at this snuggle. I didn’t tell him to do this! He just wanted to snuggle her this bad.
Little brother Martin was a bit more of a wildcard. All two year old children are wildcards. We got some beautiful images of him alone, but since he was just waking up from a car nap on arrival, he wasn’t interested in sibling photos. I’m still super pleased with his solo images. We were able to capture the beautiful hint of green in his eyes that his mama just adores so much.
I had to sing, dance, put a tiger on my head, and crow like a rooster to get Martin to sit still for the family pictures, but it was so worth it to give Corey this beautiful family portrait.
Corey chose to have me schedule a make up artist from Cotton Rouge for her session. This extra boost in confidence right after birth made these images some of my very favorite mama pictures ever.
When mama Corey contacted me in her second trimester, it was clear how much she love Charlotte already. She even bought her a beautiful headband from Goodnight Moon Props (one of my favorite vendors) that you’ll see featured in her image. I have many headbands in the studio, but this special personal touch by Corey was clearly meant for a memory box.

2018I love being a Greenville SC Newborn Twin Photographer to kittens!
These little guys were our foster Kittens through Foster Paws Rescue in Greenville SC.
Their names are Hubble (black) and Cassini (buff colored).
I had to sneak them down into the studio for a quick little shoot to remember them in all their tininess.
If you’re looking to book a session with a Greenville SC Newborn Twin Photographer, I do mostly do human subjects and I’m also a twin mama myself. Click here and here and here to see four twin sessions. And click here to meet my own twins (my is this post old! I need to do a new one!).

2018I was so excited to create Timeless Newborn Rainbow Baby Photography Greenville SC for Emily and Terrance. These two won my birthday giveaway on Facebook back in January. I had people nominate someone they thought was deserving of a free photo session.
Emily’s sister nominated them for this session, telling the story of how Emily and Terrance lost a baby. This makes Uriah a rainbow baby: a baby born after unimaginable loss.
All babies are precious miracles, but I have such a sweet spot for rainbow babies. The way their parents love and treasure them is breathtaking.
Uriah’s parents were no different. He wasn’t much of a sleeper during the session, so Terrance spent a little time rocking him after Emily fed him. The resulting images melt my heart.
But so do these sweet posed family images. There’s this immense feeling of a love that you can absorb through your pores. Those sweet kisses, the tender snuggles, the way they look at each other and their boy.
This is why I create: to recreate for people the beauty and strength and emotion that I see in their lives.
As I said before, other than when he was snuggling with his parents, Uriah was mostly awake and curious. He wanted to know what was going on in the studio and happy to just hang out with me.
I made the most of his content awake state by keeping him mostly wrapped and using various props and sets to showcase his sweet face.
We finished the session with this beautiful special request. Terrance and Emily both have these tiny wrist tattoos to remember their baby in heaven. They wanted a picture showing their love for their whole family and this is what we did. I simply love the result!

2018Meet Brandy. I was delighted that she chose me as her Studio Maternity Photographer Greenville SC.
Brandy is a nurse educator new to the Greenville area. She came to the studio smiling in scrubs and transformed into this goddess state with just a little help from the ladies at Cotton Rogue.
Brandy looked amazing in everything she wore from the studio wardrobe. I could have played dress up with her all day long.
But Brandy’s real beauty came out when her husband Nick started making her laugh. Oh my are these two so much fun! A simple wow turned her from simply beautiful to truly glowing with joy.
Nick and Brandy already have the most beautiful little girl: four year old Hayden.
She likes school and video games and her grandma. And she may or may not have had a little bubble gum in her hair. I love a little girl with just a little bit of tomboy wrapped up in those curls.
Hayden is just a full of joy and giggles as her mama.
Hayden looks all sweet here, but check out this image below. However, she can be full of mischief too!
I asked Hayden to kiss her baby sister and she planted a huge kiss on Nick’s tummy. I have never laughed so hard with a little one as with Hayden. She’s a riot!
But even with all the laughter, Nick and Brandy still make time to love each other well. Therefore, I’m pretty sure they splurged on a sitter after our session for a nice date out!
These backlit images are always my very favorite images. If I could do just one maternity set, this would be it!
Okay, maybe I lied… these mama and daughter shots are pretty amazing, too. I wouldn’t want to have missed these.
Brandy, I can’t wait to see your family again and meet sweet Antonia soon.

2018Remember twins Ford and Emerson? These two little loves came for their newborn session.
Now they’re back for their Greenville SC Twin Natural Cake Smash Photos!
Jessica requested simple, neutral, and causal for their smash set up. I have to admit, that is my favorite type of cake smash. I love keeping things simple so that the focus remains on your sweet baby.
We grabbed some eucalyptus, some cotton, fresh dahlias, bark plaques, moss, and the cutest twin naked cakes from Baking Sweet Scents (Christine is the best!!!). Add in the adorable outfits from Cora & Violet and we had the perfect simple set.
But even when you have the perfect set, babies may not destroy the cake. And while we made a huge mess and had plenty of nibbles, these two remained pretty clean 🙂
However, just like adults, baby twins always think the cake looks better on the other side. I guess they’ll soon learn that all cake is delicious!
After we played in the cake we took some portraits in these sweet monogrammed rompers that mama had got for their party.
I’ll let you in on a little secret: I did a Photoshop trick called a head swap on this photo. It really is hard to get both babies to look and smile at a the same time. One of them was blinking in this image so I used another image for that baby’s face. This type of magic isn’t always possible since the angles have to be the same, but when it is I always use it!
Jessica, you and your husband have done such an amazing job conquering the difficulties of the first year with twins. You’ve done so with grace and a sense of humor intact. So much humor that you picked the twin hulk smash images for your final gallery!!! I love it!
As you go into the year with double the no’s and twice the feet running in opposite directions, may you keep that humor. It’s so hard, but I promise their sweet twin bond and your joy over them will be sweeter each and every year. It’s worth it.
