2018I loved capturing these Natural Newborn Boy Photos Greer SC of tiny Finn.
So often newborn photos can be over the top with Mickey Mouse ears and Bat Man costumes or ill fitting props made by well-intentioned relatives. However, Finn’s mama Carey specifically requested simple sets with a touch of foliage.
She wanted to remember her little guy just as he was with no frills. I was absolutely delighted to make her wishes come true!
I did sneak in a sweet teddy bear bonnet though… because while I tend to avoid too many frills, there’s something sweet and simple about this little bonnet by Dearest Dreams (my favorite vendor for girls headbands).
But mostly we stuck to pure, simple, natural white and cream sets that left the focus on Finn’s newborn features. I just love this little one of his hands above his head like this! All of my babies slept like this at first until they learned to roll onto their bellies.
Finn’s grandma came along for the session. One of the things I’m most passionate about is making sure that mama is in the images: whether that mama is a first time mama or a grandma. Your children think you are the most beautiful woman in the world and they need to have pictures remembering you at all of your ages and stages. They want to remember your laugh lines and the smile of pride that was just for them. So I made Grandma jump into the images. I hope these images are a gift for generations to come.
I’m also in love with their family images. Look at Finn’s sweet face in his parent’s hands.
Chelsea, thank you for being such an amazing client. I’m so looking forward to working with you again soon!

2018I really enjoyed being Ryder’s Greer SC Timeless Simple Newborn Photographer. He was so sleepy, snugly and smiley. I can’t wait for you to see the miracle of Ryder, so let’s jump in with pictures and a bit of his story.
Doug and Carly spent the early years of their marriage travel nursing. You can tell right away on meeting them that they love adventure.
They were in Utah enjoying the Grand Canyon, Arches National Park, and exploring new town through travel nursing when they were surprised by a positive pregnancy test!
With sweet Ryder on the way, they made a decision to settle down in Greer, SC and I’m so glad they did!
Ryder had a rough start that included low blood sugar and a short NICU stay. Carly told me the story of crying as they took him to the NICU and again as they left the hospital for a couple of days before he was released.
But even with this rough start, these two beautiful people were intentionally letting go of so much new parent anxiety. They were focused on getting to know and learning to love their little boy.
I think this forming attachment and all the associated emotions are most visible in the parent and baby images. These are always some of my very favorites anyhow, but Doug and Carly’s are the sweetest.
Doug and Carly are also some of the sweetest clients I’ve ever had. They sent me so many little grateful notes after sneak peeks and the release of their video birth announcement below. These made my day!
Doug and Carly, I just wanted you to hear, reflected in the words of this post, what amazing first time parents you truly are. Ryder is so lucky that he was chosen to be your boy and I can’t wait to see him grow up.

2018George came to me for his newborn portraits so I was delighted that he came back for Timeless Six Month Photos Greenville SC!
His mama’s picked out the cutest outfits from my studio wardrobe and George did not disappoint with in the personality department!
First, we got the classic confused look.
Then, we got a side eye or two.
Finally, George finished with an epic eye roll. I promise that it was directed at me. “Enough with the clicky box thing, crazy lady!” But George’s mamas swear that the eye roll was for them. “Would you please get me out of here and stop embarrassing me by singing those silly songs?”
Either way, George really did enjoy being the focus of all three of our attention. He probably needs to go into acting with all these incredible expressions. Or at the least become the Gerber Baby!
I absolutely adore this 6-7 month age. As George shows, this age has so much personality. Your tiny baby is becoming a little person with opinions and thoughts.
They’re also not yet in the separation anxiety or “stranger danger” stage so they are happy to be posed by me and to smile for me behind the camera.
And finally, most 6-7 months old haven’t yet mastered crawling away from the camera. And if they have… well, I can put them in a prop and there’s no danger of climbing out!
If you’re interested in capturing your baby in the sweet roly poly stage of 6-7 months, I’d love to serve you! Your custom session includes planning, a large studio wardrobe to borrow from, and the ability to pick the images that will go into your digital package.

2018I love when my newborn clients choose me again as their Greenville SC Cake Smash Photographer. Here’s sweet Samuel at 6 weeks old.
And here is Samuel at one year old. His joy is absolutely contagious!
Samuel is an early walker which made him want to wander around the studio and touch all the things. But it also makes for some hilarious cake fun!
Christine from the lovely Baking Sweet Scents does all of my cakes and I loved how this one turned out!
And these fun paper banners and sweet fairy lights just made our time together that much more fun!
Of course, we just carried the decor over while Samuel took his post cake bath.
I always tell my one year old parents that their kiddos will likely cry through either the cake or the bath. One year olds are developmentally working through separation anxiety (even with a parent in the studio!) and becoming aware of so many new sensory experiences each day. Cake frosting can sometimes cause tears, but so can a bath in an unusual location. Samuel was the rare baby not phased by either new experience.
He loved the bath and I about died when I saw the Santa Claus beard he gave himself. There was just so much enthusiasm!
However, all one year olds tire out pretty fast so by the time the end of our session neared, Samuel was just tired.
But, of course, a few snuggles from mama are the perfect thing to fix a small case of the grumpies.
This mama series is one of my very favorite I’ve ever taken. I’m such a sucker for the relationship between mother and child. The joy and the growth they inspire in each other takes my breath away.

2018When Liz contacted me about Greenville SC Newborn Baby Photos with Big Brother, I was so excited She really wanted some beautiful family photos, but her exact words were: “Even if we’re all making silly faces it will do, because that’s really who we are.” I was instantly smitten with this family.
Clearly we were able to create beautiful candid images with a few silly faces to capture this family in their full glory.
However, after Tripp warmed up to me with some “Where’s daddy’s nose?” games, we did get beautiful family photos with Tripp too.
Liz also took charge of her session and prepped Tripp for the experience with my Preparing Toddlers for Photos Post. So when Tripp had warmed up and I had the positive reinforcement treat in my hand (fruit snacks!), this small miracle of brotherly love occurred.
I love photos like this because they help parents remember, during the day in and day out of teaching a toddler not to hit newborn brother, that this season of motherhood is a gift. And that soon enough these boys will be very best friends.
When we were finished posing Tripp, he played happily over in my big sibling corner with the Little People Zoo. So I moved on to posing with daddy, Carey. I just love how when you place baby in Daddy’s hands you can tell how small they really are.
But Shepard also made daddy a little gift that Liz and I can not stop laughing over. Accidents do happen in the studio 😉
He didn’t make any gifts for Liz though, who looks absolutely stunning holding Shepard. Motherhood (and fatherhood) is such a hard thing: sleepless nights, learning to be more patient and selfless, and constantly giving of yourself to another human. This wonder of motherhood, makes a woman even more beautiful.
Finally, we captured some images of sweet Shepard alone.
This smile though!
