Ryan Elizabeth {Greenville, SC Newborn Photography}

21BW

Ryan Elizabeth was my oldest newborn yet at 2+ weeks!  However, she was super sleepy and allowed me to finally nail some of the more difficult poses. Her sweet mom Carrie worked extra hard to make sure she was tired and it paid off!

I can’t believe how relaxed Carrie and Micheal are as new parents. They took my arrival as an opportunity to rest and snuggle while I took photos of Ryan. They would check on me if they heard Ryan fussing, but otherwise they allowed me to do my job in peace and quiet. I really appreciated the freedom to just photograph and pose to my heart’s content.

Carrie and Micheal had the most beautifully decorated bedroom complete with a white bed. I couldn’t resist the opportunity to catch a few photographs in such a beautiful backdrop.

Micheal came to hold Ryan at one point while I was changing backdrops. I’ve never seen a father so natural and so dearly in love with his little girl. He kissed and cuddled and just enjoyed little Ryan to the fullest. I think the following image just completely captures his wonder with his new daughter.

One of Carrie’s requests for this session was a storyboard capturing all the little details of sweet Ryan’s form. I’m really pleased with the result since I love taking and displaying detail images. Thank you, Carrie, for making this request; I’m sure it will continue to spark my creativity in future sessions.

Ryan Storyboard

Micheal and Carrie, I pray that you would continue to cherish these early days with Ryan. I love how relaxed and centered your parenting is and I hope to see you again as Ryan grows.

Charlotte {Greenville, SC Newborn Photographer}

Stretched Out

Precious Charlotte came for her portraits at 8 days old. She was so petite and just loved to suck on her hands.

Family

The first time the P family came, it was a very overcast day. I had so many problems with the light that I went back to their home 5 days later to complete the session. I’m so glad I did! The photos from Charlotte’s nursery turned out beautifully! The light from her window was amazing.

Yawn

Charlotte has the distinction of being the first newborn to yawn for my camera. Precious.

Bear Hat

Mom and dad brought this adorable hat. I think it’s perfect for her sweet little face.

Snuggles with Mommy

Charlotte definitely loves snuggling with her mommy. I think it might be her favorite thing to do.

Daddy's Little Fan

Daddy can’t wait to introduce ‘Charlie’ to football season. She’s already the Chicago Bear’s tiniest fan.

The C Family {Greenville, SC Family Portrait Photographer}

The C Family invited me over to do some Christmas portraits of their beautiful family.  This was a rare day in early December when it was actually warm enough to enjoy being outside.

These teenage boys are going to be (or might already be) heart-breakers.  They are such a handsome trio of brothers.  They nearly had me in stitches as they moaned about how their eyes were watering in this position and they had the full luxury of shade!

However, I pity any young man who even approaches their baby sister.  No suitor who doesn’t meet their approval will ever get past them.  They love that tiny girl fiercely.

Gabriel Mason {Greenville, SC Newborn Portrait Photographer}

Gabriel Mason was wide awake for this entire session. His little eyes just sparkled with concentration as he watched me work!  I love how calm and relaxed he was even when I was moving him around.

Gabriel spent a few nights in the NICU after his birth due to a suspected infection. I was so impressed with Annie and Tom’s tenacious spirits as they reflected on their experiences.

Gabriel’s nursery was created with such care and skill.  Annie had painted a beautiful tree mural on the wall since Tom works in tree services.

The night before I arrived, Tom had sweetly allowed Annie the privilege of sleeping in until 8.  Annie couldn’t thank him enough for the gift of waking refreshed.

Tom and Annie, I hope that you enjoy these fleeting days with a newborn.  I was truly blessed to capture Gabriel and spend time hearing your stories.

Twin Baby Dedication Portraits {Greenville, SC Baby Portrait Photographer}

My precious identical twin girls were dedicated to the Lord on January 23, 2010 in handmade gowns.

As I write this post many months later, I can barely remember them as they were then. Those sleepless nights that seem endless pass quickly in the grand scheme of things.  Photographs like these are all I have to capture the tiny blessings of those moments.

Aeralind Grace  (Hymn of Grace)

I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
Psalm 146:2

Bronwyn Hope (Steadfast Hope)

…Continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard.
