2018I’m totally in love with Luke’s Simple Timeless Newborn Pictures Greer SC. You wouldn’t know it from this photo, but this little guy barely weighed 5 pounds. He was just so tiny and sweet!
Luke’s entry into the world was a bumpy ride. Mama Andrea and Luke have different Rh Factors, there was a scare about his heart, and they delivered at 37 weeks. Even so, he was tiny but HEALTHY little guy. I was so honored to be chosen to photograph him.
Tiny ones are often feisty ones in the studio and Luke was no exception. He wanted to be wrapped, please and thank you! My main goal is always to keep the little ones at my studio comfortable and happy while creating beautiful memories, so wrapped it was!
Aren’t Andrea, Nicholas, and Luke just the cutest family? You can really see how small he is in this image.
Andrea is also one of the sweetest mamas I’ve worked with in a long time. She’s super detail oriented, but also relaxed. I love that personality combination in clients.
All my clients receive their images in both color and black and white. I love both mediums equally and never want a client to have to pick just one. Which is your favorite of this family pose?
This grumpy brow was a clear favorite. Newborn faces are simply the best. As are newborn details: check out Luke’s amazing eyelashes!
Andrea and Nicholas, you are amazing parents. Luke is so lucky to have you. I can see your tender love for him, but I can also see how hard you are willing to fight for him.
Are you interesting in having your own tiny miracle photographed? I would love to talk to you about creating memories and fine art for your family. Contact me today to get the conversation about your dream session started.

2018Meet Rhys! His sweet parents wanted a Simple Classic Newborn Photos on White Greenville SC. We used a few other neutrals too!
Rhys has a rocky beginning that included twelve days in the NICU for respiratory distress. His parents Stefanie and Chris were so excited when he came home and just wanted to remember how much they loved their little guy. They wanted to capture every little detail. I love how we did just that with a few beautiful macro images.
These are always some of my favorites because these are the details we remember as the grow up: those paper thin fingernails, the skinny legs, their profile, their tiny toes. It is a gift to preserve imagery to go with the memory.
I also just love the way newborns curl up int a little ball, don’t you? Black and white is my favorite, but the color is lovely too.
Stefanie also requested the “froggie pose.” It’s not one I do unless it’s requested, but Stefanie was shocked to find out this the image is Photoshop Magic. It’s actually two images of Rhys fully supported that are stitched together to create this final image. If a photographer ever tries to balance baby in this pose, fire him or her on the spot. Baby Safety is always more important than the image created! Babies are priceless treasures. You can see the two images I used to create this image below.
Here’s another angle of this pose that was also stitched together in Photoshop.
But for the most part we stuck to simple, classic, and safe poses for Rhys which are always my favorite. They’ll also stand the test of time. However, we couldn’t resist this bear bonnet. It’s a crowd favorite!
Are you looking to book a session for your own sweet love? Sessions book quickly so I recommend booking in your second trimester. We’d love to help you remember your little one. Contact us today!
Stefanie and Chris, I have never had two clients who enjoyed themselves so much laughing at me posing! Thank you so much for your sweet spirits and your laughter.

2018There are moments during pregnancy that seem like it might never end. Anxiously waiting to meet your baby or never feeling comfortable after week 36. Even if pregnancy seems like it will never end, those nine months will eventually fly by, and preparing for a baby can be an exciting and hectic process.
Babies can be expensive. Fortunately, since 2013 the breastfeeding provision of the ACA has helped expecting moms. Mothers are now eligible to receive a free breast pump through their insurance.
Do I Need a Breast Pump?
Most commonly, a mom uses a breast pump to return to work and continue to provide breast
milk for her baby. A breast pump can support a mom’s breastfeeding goals in a variety of ways. It can help manage engorgement or draw out inverted nipples. Building a supply of expressed milk means your partner can the responsibility and joy of feeding. The breast milk supply can be used in case you are unable to breastfeed your baby.
One of the most generous things you could do with an excess breast milk supply is donate it. For premature babies in the NICU, breast milk is one of the most powerful things to help their development. As you can imagine, expressing milk in those situations is extremely stressful. Donating to milk banks helps preemies get the breast milk they need safely and effectively.
Even if you don’t plan on using a breast pump, it’s better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Your eligibility for a pump might expire after a certain date after your baby arrives.
How to Get a Breast Pump Through Insurance
When was the last time you filed an insurance claim for anything? It is a process. For most insurance policies, a woman is only eligible for a breast pump during a certain time during her pregnancy. Some women can’t get a breast pump until 30 days before their due date! That does not leave a wide margin if your baby comes early.
If you do chose to go at it alone, the first step is to contact insurance company, and you will get clarification on what pump features you qualify for. Usually the insurance agent is familiar with only one “insurance breast pump”.
Next you’ll need to get a prescription from your OB/GYN to prove a breast pump is medically necessary. You’ll need to make sure the doctor’s office faxes prescription to your insurance agent.
Now you can get your breast pump! You can either buy a breast pump and wait for a reimbursement or order the breast pump from a medical supply store at the exact right time.

2017It’s always a good thing when your Greenville SC Natural Twin Newborn Baby Photographer also has twins.
My twin girls are 8 this year. That first year was a crazy ride of joy, sleeplessness, cuddles, and them changing everything up as soon as I figured them out. One of my favorite things is to serve twin mamas in the studio. There’s something truly special about encouraging a new twin mama and promising her that it’s all worth it; so I was thrilled when Jessica booked with me for her little ones Ford and Emerson.
Ford and Emerson stole my heart from the very moment the walked in the studio. Calm and laid back and brand new, they were a joy to work with. I almost didn’t want to give them back to Jessica. I just kept trying just one more thing.
Each baby had such different personality. Even though they were both relaxed, Emerson we so much more laid back. She slept through the entire session and let me pose her however I wanted.
Ford was sweet but he was definitely a mama’s boy. He needed a good snuggle and snack to get through the session. And when I finally got to pose him, Ford felt more comfortable next to his sister. That twin bond starts from the very start.
I loved talking to Jessica about the challenges and celebrations of having twins in the first year. It was so nice to be able to give back the gift of encouragement that had been given to me by other twin mamas in my early days with my girls.
Are you looking to book a session for your newborn twins? I’d love to create memories for you, but more than that I would love to encourage you. Please fill out this contact form and I’ll start encouraging you right away.

2017If I could tell you all the sorrow and the joy in sweet baby Jude’s story, I would have to write a novel. This baby boy was desperately hoped for and celebrated with a joy you could slice up like the finest wedding cake. Jude is a miracle hoped for and loved beyond measure
Mrs. Reagan is the sweetest big sister. At 5 years old, she will always remember the day Jude came home. She’s also an amazing helper for her sweet mama. I can’t wait to see how Jude and Reagan’s relationship will grow over the years.
Since Jude was born right before Christmas mama brought this sweet sleigh and Christmas pajamas for Reagan. I added in this sweet sweater romper for Jude and some trimming from a local tree farm. I’m super happy with how this Christmas set up turned out for them.
I couldn’t resist toning down the Christmas theme to a little more rustic woodland scene with this antique bread bowl and more use of the greenery.
And this grumpy face followed by the tinest of smirks… oh, newborn expressions are my favorite!
Yet, as always, it’s the simple images that draw me into each baby’s story. The cream and whites, the skin tones, the curly little babies: these will always be my very favorite. Nothing brings back the rush of newborn memories than seeing the sleepy newborn smiles on simple backdrops. The portraits are true classics.
And as always, I sneak in just a few detail images. Jude’s curly ears. His crinkly eyelashes. His tiny profile. Those tiny toes. These tiny details are what make Jude who he is. These tiny details bring back the rush of newborn memories.
