2020I absolutely adored doing this Floral Princess Cake Smash Photography Greenville SC for baby Kylie. This floaty chiffon dress was sheer perfection for the romantic look we wanted for Kylie’s session.
Kylie’s whole family came to her cake smash and I loved having them there.
Her mom Evelyn specifically asked if she could bring her mama Vilma to the session. Vilma is fighting cancer and I knew having this photos would be a gift for all time.
I also loved interacting with Kylie’s siblings Camila and James. James is outgoing and just content in his own skin. Camila is a shy beauty with a gentle smile. Kylie is so lucky to have older siblings who just dote on her.
I especially loved how this wood print of the three siblings looks. This square shape brings the three siblings into beautiful focus and the wooden edges give the weight and depth of a canvas on the wall.
In between changing, I took this sweet image of Kylie. Ya’ll, baby rolls are divine.
Evelyn had also picked a sweet cake smash dress for Kylie. I loved this pale shade of pink against Kylie’s beautiful skin.
Choosing this rose backdrop Baking Sweet Scents really made this Floral Princess Cake Smash Photography Greenville SC come alive. I also added a paper crown, lace, and a rose to Christine from Baking Sweet Scents semi-naked cake. A semi-naked cake is included with all cake smash sessions.
Kylie picked at her cake but then dramatically shoved it to the side. She’s such a sweet diva.

2020If I were to offer Mother’s Day Photo Sessions Greenville SC this is exactly what I would want them to look like. Creamy dreamy whites and lots of snuggles and cuddles leave the focus on the relationships.
This session is actually a six month session for Reagan where grandma tagged along and jumped in the images. Having just lost a parent recently, I know how much image like these mean. Seeing your mama in love with you as a child or seeing your mama love on your babies is a precious gift. I never say no to requests for grandparents to join a session.
Time is fleeting. Hold onto these moments and these joys just a little bit longer. Make them into art. Treasure the beauty of relationships with all their quirks.
As with any session in the studio, I always let the children lead. Children are people too. They need to move and play and enjoy themselves. They have their own wonderful thoughts and opinions. Want to jump on the bed? Sure!
Do you need to snuggle in imprecise poses? Excellent! Let’s just capture you as your are in your full innocent uninhibited beauty. Do you think tummy time with your sister would be fun? Let’s try it and watch some magic unfold. Children’s ideas are sometimes better than mine!
I also have a play corner for big kids who just need a break. The Little People Zoo was well loved during this session. Especially when we were focusing on Reagan.Isn’t she just the sweetest baby? She too needed a break mid-session for a nursing snack, but that just left time to get to know these wonderful women a bit more. Are you looking to book a Mother’s Day Photo Sessions Greenville SC to capture all the mothers in your life? Or maybe a baby milestone with a grandma or two? I would adore having you in the studio. Click here to tell me all about your perfect session.

2019I so prefer Simple Timeless One Year Cake Smash Photography Greenville SC because I want your baby to be the star of the session. Cute sets and themes are fun, but I’d rather showcase the natural beauty of your child. I want to focus on the faces, the emotions, and the experience of eating cake and playing in a bath. I want you to look at the images and immediately feel how you felt with your baby was one years old.
That’s why I adored everything about Stella’s cake smash with her big sister Lucy and mama Patty. Watch this short video to see all of the images from this session. Then, scroll down to see my very favorite images.
Stella is Patty’s self titled “wild child.” Stella approaches life with a sense of adventure and lacks an accurate danger sensor. She climbs things. Stella gets into mischief. She keeps up with big sister Lucy just fine, thank you very much!
For that reason, I feel like the above image is everything Patty loves about Stella. Christine at Baking Sweet Scents bakes my cakes with prayers and love; a simple cake is included in your session. This beautiful semi-naked blush cake compliments the simple and timeless feel of Patty’s wishes and wardrobe choices for Stella.
However, Stella’s personality shined during the whole session. Do you see her adventurous spirit in this fun sampling!
I also really loved including big sister Lucy in the session. Sometimes we get so caught up in our youngest that we forget that their sibling is part of the joy too. Patty wanted to capture both girls and I love the results. Don’t worry, Lucy got to eat the left over cake, too!

2019I was so excited to do Boho Princess Cake Smash Photography Greenville SC for Kylie. You see Kylie is a Quiet Graces baby. I did her newborn session, too! You can see her full newborn session by clicking here. However, here’s a quick peek of her Greenville SC Newborn Photos.
I never get over how quickly babies grow up right before our eyes. Look at how much Kylie has grown! And we did her cake smash session at 10 months as her family had just become world traveling digital nomads. 10 months was when they were in town for a family event. And Kylie was already walking! Slow down, sweet girl!
This face here totally cracks me up. Since she was walking, Kylie wanted to stand up immediately and just get moving. But it’s like she’s horrified that we wanted her to stay in just one place. So I proceeded to entertain her with a box and silly faces to keep her still for a few split seconds.
Finally, we changed into Kylie’s cake smash outfit that her mama had made just for her. And proceeded to the main event. Cake!!!!
Clearly, Kylie loved every last bite. I loved the boho princess theme that Kylie’s mama chose for this session. It’s delightfully girly without being overdone. Since Kylie’s family is traveling, this outfit was donated to the studio wardrobe and this exact set is always available for use in the studio.
We finished the session with a sweet flower and milk bath which Kylie adored. I started including these to do cake clean up and get a few extra images, but they have quickly become my very favorite part of a cake smash session. We capture all of the genuine emotions from joy to tears in a bath. Looking to book your own Boho Princess Cake Smash Photography Greenville SC Session inspired by Kylie’s? I’d love to hear about your vision. Send me an email with your cake smash vision by clicking here.

2019I had a blast with Finn at his Fun Timeless Boy Cake Smash Simpsonville SC.
I always tell my cake smash clients that usually your baby won’t cry for either the cake or the bath. Actually, I say it oppositely: usually your baby won’t cry for both the bath and the cake, but will probably cry for one. Rarely do they cry for both… but even then I usually get some amazing cuddling relationship images.
Finn was the rare baby who cried for neither cake nor bath. And he had a blast both smashing his cake and splashing his bath. It was delightful! I could have watched him play all morning long.
Here’s a few fun videos of the chaos! Can you believe it?
Finn’s Cake Smash from Melissa Aldrich on Vimeo.
Both mama, Shayla, and I had blue fingers and hands from steering his exuberant self back onto the seamless to make more of a mess. And in case you doubt how much he enjoyed Christine of Baking Sweet Scents‘ frosting… well here is the full evidence.
Oh my word. I have never had such a gloriously messy roll of seamless paper before.
And then there was the bath. Deep and gloriously full. Too tempting not to splash. So Finn splashed. Everywhere!
Until the studio floor looked like this and I had to run and get a heap of our pool towels to clean it up!
So much fun!
We finished our session with some really sweet family portraits as Finn got tired out from all of the activity.
My favorites from this portion are the details. Light on Finn’s belly button. This sweet thumb sucking. It makes my heart burst.
Shayla, thank you for choosing me. I have so enjoyed getting to know you and do life with you a bit. I’m always amazed and the new friends God brings my way through work. I’m grateful for you.
