2018Meet Avery! This little ray of sunshine was two years old for our Timeless Emotional Child Studio Pictures Greenville SC!
Avery is an absolute ray of sunshine. Her smile and antics light up her mama’s world like the Christmas tree in times square.
Krista wanted studio portraits of Avery for Christmas. This was a bit out of her normal and I was delighted to hear that fellow photographer Mary DeCrescenzio recommended me. Mary is the leader of the Greenville Chapter of Tuesday’s Together which believes that “A Rising Tide Lifts All Boats.” Thank you, Mary, for lifting my boat with sweet Krista and Avery!
Krista did an amazing job preparing Avery for her session. She read and used my guide for preparing young kids for a studio session with Quiet Graces and it showed the moment Avery walked into the studio!
Avery was a ham posing and laughing and playing for the camera! Her mama’s prep truly paid off.
That’s not to say Avery was perfect; every two year old has a couple of moments in the studio. We had a teeny meltdown over changing shoes, but Krista calmly walked Avery through the process. She really is the best mama for this little angel.
As usual, my favorite images are always the ones in relationship. I love this little collection of Krista and Avery together that are perfect for a Christmas Card.
But my very favorite image from this session is this one of Avery and Krista. The emotion stole my heart immediately. This is the connection and memories that I so long to create. I can’t even decide if I like it better in color or black and white!
Krista, thank you for choosing me to capture your beautiful Avery. I’m so glad to have met you.

2017For years I’ve been a little scared of outdoor family sessions, but not anymore. The switch for me was realizing that I wasn’t going for the perfectly posed Christmas card image. I wanted to create actual memories: sweet snuggles, toddlers with lovies, chasing after each other, and even some tears.
Once I stopped trying to fit my art and your family into a round hole and accepted my square peg storybook approach… well the magic is starting to happen as you can see here!
I’m a story book photographer.
The images in this post are the story of the sweet K family. We’re playing at my favorite location late November. There was a lot of running, giggling, piggy back rides, and a few good no’s just to balance it out. I’m so honored that they have spent the last 4 years challenging me to take outdoor images and loving every session. They are the inspiration behind this new offering!
If you’re looking for someone to tell your story as your family is right now, I’d love to create art with you. I have 14 dates in May, June, October, and November up for grabs for a unique family session experience
Sessions are $550 plus tax and include:
- Shooting at this beautiful location in Travelers Rest. I know it’s a drive, but it’s worth it! (This area is controlled burn managed area. I will choose an alternate location only if it is a burn year.)
- Wildflowers and late evening session times in May and June.
- Tall grass, golden light, and early evening session times in October and November.
- 1-2 hours of shooting time as needed
- personalized wardrobe consultation. Tell me your style, colors you feel confident in, where you like to shop for your family, your budget, and I’ll create a style board just for you.
- 30 plus hand edited digital files in color and black & white
- An 8×8 leather journal album with 16 pages telling your story.
If you’re interested in a Sunset Storybook Session, please fill out the contact form below! I can’t wait to make art with your family’s story!

2015Shane, Becky, and their crazy-fun kiddos met me for a quick family mini session early in the morning in November.
This was hands down the best prepared family I have ever done. They thought out their wardrobe. They prepped the kids who knew my name and what was expected of them before we even began. They bribed their kids using their favorite breakfast time snack (Dunkin’ Donuts). And everyone was prepared to pose and laugh.
My favorite part of this family was how each child was cherished for who they were. Each was secure and happy and oh so joy-filled.
I even caught this sister love going on in the background! How fun!
Are you interested in a Family Mini Session? I only offer Family mini’s once or twice a year and my email newsletter subscribers are the first to know! Slots can fill up before I release them to the public via Facebook, so sign up for newsletters here. I promise I won’t spam your inbox; I hate inbox clutter as much as you do!
Also, did I mention that Shane and his brother Todd are the amazing owners of Highsmith CPA? These guys are LIFESAVERS for the small business at tax time (I may have personal experience with their lifesaving abilities. Worth. Every. Penny.).

Or need something to share with your husband to steer him in the right direction as Mother’s Day approaches?
You’re in the right place. Today I’m going to share some sweet gift ideas for all the women in your life.
Does mom like encouraging friends?
Whether she’s constantly writing notes or just dropping by meals for new moms with a note this whimsical stationary from The White Invite could be the perfect way for her to exercise her gift.
Does mom need a good pampering session?
How about this luxury bath set from local artisan Keats Krafts? Couple this with a gift card to Greenville Massage and you can’t go wrong.
Is Mom known for her Sweet Tooth?
Grab her a gift card to The Chocolate Moose in downtown Greenville. You could go with her. Or if you’re the husband reading this post, make sure there’s enough on her gift card to take a few friends. She can enjoy a special Mom’s night out on you 🙂
Does Mom love to Entertain?
I really love the sweet colors of these beautiful lotus shaped nesting bowls from Simply Country Home. Couple the bowls with a gift certificate to Carolina Olive Oil for some unique vinegar and oil to spruce up her salads with.
Does Mom Love to Decorate her Home?
How about picking up a sweet wreath from Branches and Burlap on Haywood Road? I love this springy wreath, but there’s so much more in her shop?
Or you can have a set of these sweet silhouettes of her children’s faces made for the mantle or wall?
Do Accessories Make Mom’s Heart Sing?
If you’ve been around here long enough you’ll know that I love Noonday Collection Jewelry. Here are two pieces made by the artisans that Noonday empowers all over the world. One for a more modern trendy statement and another timeless diamond necklace.
Do You have a Mom (or wife) impossible to find a gift for?
You’re in luck 😉 I’m doing Mother’s Day Mini Sessions on May 17. What mom doesn’t want images showcasing the love they feel for their children?
