2020I love this Simple Classic Studio 3 Month Baby Photography session! Sweet little Abel is a repeat client. You can see his mama Whitney’s Maternity session here and also Abel’s newborn session here. Let’s flashback a second with this first photo to his newborn session. Wasn’t he simply the sweetest? But look how much he’s grown? Look at these smiles for mama and me!
I see newborn babies, six month olds, and 9 month olds quite regularly in the studio. But not as many people book 3 month old sessions, which is a shame! Babies are at their squishiest and most smiley at three month old. Plus their other facial expressions are also hilarious. Just look at the squishy quizzical and death stares Abel gave me below. Mama Whitney may have just stolen his pacifier. I promise Abel is a happy little guy, but these crack me up! I let me client pick their favorite images from each session. You never have to deal with 15 (or 30) images that I picked, as you’ll always receive your very favorites. I was so happy Whitney picked the grumpy faces above as well as these sweet detail images below. And if you can’t decide on your favorite images, you are always able to purchase the whole gallery. Did I mention that three month old babies have THE BEST facial expressions? Look at these! But my very favorite image from the whole session is the one I took at the tail end of Whitney with Abel. She wasn’t dressed for pictures or expecting me to point the camera at her, but it doesn’t matter. All I can see here is the sheer overwhelming love she feels for her boy. Looking to book your own sessions for your baby? I’d love to be considered to serve you. Drop me a line by clicking here and telling me what you most want to remember about your little one.

Hana Birth Announcement Video from Melissa Aldrich on Vimeo.
Hana was the sweetest chunkiest little girl. She loved being curled up into a tiny baby ball inside a wrap. I usually catch at least one grin on camera, but Hana gave me three with the longest smile ever just as I laid her down! You know a session is going to be amazing when these are some of your very first images.
One of the things I love most about being a newborn photographer is capturing all of the little details that new mamas often forget in their sleep deprivation. Hana’s back wrinkles are some of my favorite details from this set of images,
But Jamie and Loren also asked me to take close up images, called macros in photography speak, of Hana. These are always my personal favorite images. I’ve featured them here in black and white. My clients never have to choose between color or black and white files. I provide them with both in their finished gallery.
Newborn Safety is so important to me! This image shows how close dad was to Hana during this images. He would gently lift his hand just above her before I took the shot and I would edit it out for the final shot. I never want these little ones to be in danger.
We also spent a lot of time on family images. Isn’t it amazing that Hana will be able to see how much her parents adored her from the very start? And the contrast of a tiny baby in her parents hands always makes me so nostalgic.
I also really loved this set that Jamie and Loren picked in this nest. It’s one of my most requested props and Hana adored being curled into the nest.

2020My favorite part of taking Timeless Simple Six Month Studio Baby Pictures Simpsonville SC is getting to know these babies and their family. This little guy is Lachlan. He is a miracle. His story isn’t mine to tell, but there was an extensive surgery and a lengthy NICU stay and lots of prayers and tears. I was able to photograph Lachlan at a little over a month old. This is one of my favorite sets of his images. You can see the rest of Lachlan’s images by clicking here.
You can imagine my joy when I got to see Lachlan again at 6 months old! There were so many uncertainties with his voice and swallowing and just seeing him here in the studio and hearing him hum, well, frankly it made my year.
It helps that Lachlan is one of the cutest babies ever, right? I mean that fussy and those pink cheeks and big brown eyes are just the best features! Six months old is one of my favorite ages to photograph. Babies at this age don’t have separation anxiety (also known as “stranger danger”). Six month old babies are so happy to meet me and think I’m hysterical. They’ve also go SO MUCH PERSONALITY at this age. It’s seriously the best!
Seeing Lachlan with his parents brings me so much joy. I love how much they delight in him. They play with him with such gratitude and joy. I can’t help but be inspired to be a better parent to my children when I see them with Lachlan.
Are you looking to book a six month session for your little miracle? I’d love to be considered for meeting your precious baby. Click here to contact me today and let me know what story you’d like to tell with your images.

2020It’s not everyday your baby turns one years old so treat her to Simple Rustic One Year Cake Smash Photography Greer SC. I provide wardrobe and pre-assembled backdrop options as well as a cake for your session. Click here to inquire about booking your session. Then, scroll down to read about the adorable Nalani’s time in my studio. Nalani’s mama brought this sweet outfit to the session. It’s so fun when client bring something of their own for the portraits before cake.
I loved these special portraits of Nalani and her Mama Tia. Tia is a single mama working hard in EMT school. Together these two women are proving to each other that they can do anything with a little hard work and each other to provide encouragement. Tia amazes me.
I was so excited to have Nalani back in the studio. You can see her full newborn session by clicking here, but here’s a little peek at her a year ago. I loved this mauve wrap and headband from her first session and couldn’t resist carrying over the theme with an outfit that matched. Won’t these be an amazing collage on the wall? The outfit and wrap are both part of my studio wardrobe and were purchased from the amazing Avonli Baby. I love providing my clients quality items for their portrait sessions.
I tell all my one year clients that their baby will either love the cake and hate the bath or hate the cake and love the bath. Rarely I have a baby who loves or hates both… but generally they love one best. Nalani was definitely more into her bath. I love that the bath gives us some more opportunities for sweet images while giving an active one year old something familiar (water!) to play with.

2020Are you looking to book Simple Beautiful Timeless Newborn Photography Hendersonville NC? I’d love to be considered in your search. Click here to tell me about your dream session. Or you can scroll down to see the images from Vida’s session. Precious Vida had the most delicate features. Her spiky hair, her sweet smile, and her gorgeous profile took my breath away. And this little yawn was so perfect. I love capturing these little details for Vida’s mama Shannen to remember. From tiny toes to sweet little pouts each baby is so unique and perfect.
Vida’s big brother Fox was also the absolute sweetest. He stole some kisses right at the end of the session in this sweet little bed and it was sheer perfection. But Fox was also amazing at the beginning of the photos when we took his portraits with Vida. Shannen and Dan had done such a wonderful job helping Fox prepare for the session. He knew my name and what was expected and was just so excited to hold Vida all on his own. It was the most precious thing.
Newborn session can run really long between feeding and soothing and posing, so Fox actually spent most of the session on an adventure and out to lunch with Dan. I know he enjoyed that one on one time so much! I know I say this every time I write a blog post, but family images are some of my very favorite. The beauty of the family relationships shines so brightly in images. I always imagine the joy these images will bring the baby when they are going through a rough spot as teenagers. I imagine Vida thinking “Look how much my family loved me right from the start.” I imagine her turning to talk to her parents about her rough day. I think this is the biggest reason it’s so important to display your favorite images in your home. These images bring hope and love and light to you in those hard moments. They can bring courage and joy. This is why I love what I do so much.
